Kingston upon Thames was once the county town
of Surrey, and in fact the Surrey County Hall remains in this University
town despite the fact that the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is now
part of London. Kingston is one of the premier shopping destinations in the
area, with the excellent Bentalls taking centre stage in the Bentalls
centre, alongside many other well known names as well as some shops unique
to Kingston.
Train services run regularly into London
Waterloo, and drivers can easily get into central London or onto the M25 by
using the A3.
