New serviced apartments proposed in Brighton

BRIGHTON could soon have 56 new serviced apartments to offer visitors.

Developers have applied to the council to build a new boutique style apart-hotel with 56 self contained apartments.

The Light Queen Square is being proposed by Stonehurst Properties who already operate The Light in Manchester.

The six storey building would predominately offer guests one-bedroom apartments with a small number of two-bed apartments and have a ground floor restaurant.

Plans were initially submitted earlier this year after being withdrawn and amended after local concerns were raised. The architects behind the scheme are Brighton-based Conran and Partners.

Brighton and Hove council is currently considering the application, which will require the demolition of a former ice rink to proceed.
